UPCOMING BOOK RELEASE: PONYBOY

About me

I grew up in the streets of San Pedro, California — the kind of place that teaches you grit early. Those streets gave me my voice, and now I’m using it through art and writing.

These days, I live in San Antonio with my beautiful wife of 32 years. We’ve raised three sons and one daughter, and now we’re watching our family grow with daughters-in-law and grandchildren (six and counting!). I count that as my biggest blessing.

For 20 years I’ve worked in real estate, but creativity has always been part of me. You can see my art at poncie.com. Storytelling runs through my art, my ministry, and now my first novel — a raw, coming-of-age story called Ponyboy.

Faith is central to my life. I also serve in Christian ministry as a former deacon, the host of the What Does the Bible Say YouTube ministry, and as Vice President of Guatemala for the Nations, where I help provide Bible books for children in public schools. My mission in both art and writing is the same: to tell real stories, share hope and leave a legacy of truth.

BIG NEWS. I’m writing my first NOVEL

It’s gritty. It’s raw. It’s pulled straight from the streets I grew up in. Some of it happened exactly the way I write it. Some of it… maybe didn’t. That’s for you to decide.

The story follows Ponyboy — a kid growing up in a neighborhood where the rules are different, the nights are long, and trouble’s never more than a block away. It’s about friendship, art, love, survival… and the things we can’t forget.

I’ve got 6 chapters down, 6 to go. This one’s been living in my head for years — now it’s coming alive on the page

Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing pieces along the way.

Price: TBD

Poncie, This can be very special my brother. Vivid descriptions, like you are painting with words! Again, this can be very special, please make sure you finish it!!! No red pencil needed.

Good chapter! Wow! I love this line haha, “My older brothers had a reputation, and you only crossed us if you had a death wish.” The story is very good and I remember you telling us some of that. Cool to see it dramatized as a story. I love the duality of the main characters. Ones home is dead quiet and the others is too crowded. Both characters fit together like yin and yang. The ending of the chapter is intense. Poor Michael Fox :(

Marteen Rodriguez

Yooooo Ponyboy is really good!!!

No complaints. Felt like James Patterson books I use to read a lot in middle school & high school. Where every line was catching my attention at some point until the end of chapter. Then I’m like “what… Give me more. *goes to next chapter*

Austin Herrera

I really like it the descriptive words used provided great imagery and took me into your world feeling like I was there… Great descriptive word usage

Chapter 5. That was the best chapter yet. It was the perfect mix of story and description. I loved the entire chapter. I was telling Genesis as I was reading about when Mary said that Carol thinks you’re cute, and then I told Genesis heck yeah! But then I continued reading, and she said that she doesn’t date gangsters, and I was like uh oh.  But that whole street life side of the story keeps me hooked. That was your best one by far in my opinion

Keean Reichelt

Wow! It’s really well written and engaging, can’t wait to see what happens next! Poor Michael Fox, that part made my heart sink

Rebecca Rodriguez

Wow this is amazing! The details are so good! It catches your attention right away I didn’t want to stop reading! The ending really makes you want to find out what happens next

Marisa Destefano

Wow I’m speechless! That was so good! I love how you described the characters, I could picture them from all the details you gave. Michael Fox made my heart sink

Esmeralda Rodriguez

I really enjoyed reading the first chapter,  I don't think I have any criticisms, the first chapter had my full attention and looking forward to the rest of the story
